We recently interviewed Bend, Oregon resident and mosaic muralist, Rochelle Schueler. Rochelle Schueler of Wild Rose Artworks. In our newest video, she gives us a tour of her artist studio located in her Discovery West home. Working with tile and glass, and taking inspiration from her natural surroundings, Rochelle creates unique and timeless art that brings joy and delight to the community and even her own neighbors.
Rochelle has been a professional mosaic artist for seven years working in Bend, Oregon on large-scale architectural and public art mosaic murals as well as garden mosaics. Rochelle has a custom mountain modern home in Discovery West as well as an art studio on her property. She drew the designs for her art studio which includes a rolling rack system for her various supplies, window panels that bring a natural and soft light to the studio as well as a large RV-style door to roll larger projects in and out of the studio.
You may recognize her work on your way into our Bend, Oregon neighborhood: she created and installed our eight beautiful tile mosaic pinecones on the Skyline Ranch Rd. bridge, which serves as the main entry into the neighborhood. We love that this beautiful and lasting representation of our logo will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for years to come each time they travel across the bridge. And she’s currently working on the concept for an installation in the highly anticipated Discovery Corner, which will be coming to the neighborhood in 2024.
