Stars and Stripes – Discovery West
Kick off the July 4th weekend a day early with “Stars and Stripes,” a special free event and drone show at Discovery West celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday. Taking place Friday, July 3 from 8 to 10 pm, it’s the perfect way to get a jump on the festivities, and promises a variety of entertaining (and delicious!) offerings for the whole family.
The event will feature entertainers and a DJ, and offer good ol’ fashioned desserts and refreshing adult and kids beverages, “modern” square dancing including live lessons and demonstrations, as well as fun games and giveaways throughout the evening.
The night will culminate in a spectacular patriotic drone show at 9:45 pm, with 100 drones lighting up the skies above Discovery West in a one-of-a-kind aerial display not to be missed. Vendors on site will include Cuppa Yo, Stars & Stripes Bar, Adamo Carnival Eats, and Sparrow Mercado Pie Stand, Balloons and Tattoos by Pretend, and Hair Tinsel by Sparkle Strands.
Location: Discovery Corner, located at 1125 NW Ochoa Drive. Parking: Available throughout the neighborhood, and participants are encouraged to walk, roll, ride their bikes, and carpool as feasible.
July 4th Pet Parade – Downtown Bend
An annual tradition, Bend’s July 4th Pet Parade is not to be missed! Beginning at Harmon Park at 8:30, the parade features pets of all shapes and sizes, weaves through the streets of downtown Bend, and culminates at Drake Park.
July 4th Open House – Deschutes Historical Museum
Wander through Bend’s colorful history as the museum opens its doors for an Open House event from 10am to 4 pm. Visitors will be treated to frozen treats, games, and a look at the entries of their newest event, “History Bricks!”
Bend Elks Baseball Game – Vince Genna Stadium
Take your family out to the ball game – the perfect place to gather and celebrate before fireworks, at 6 pm on July 4th. The Bend Elks will play the Yakima Valley Pippins.
Pilot Butte Fireworks Show
From just about anywhere around town, pick your perch and watch the fireworks show that gathers everyone’s focus after a long day of fun around town. Show starts at 10 pm.
