Discover the Joy of Trail Connectivity: Celebrating National Trails Day at Discovery West

Hey there, trailblazers! If you’re anything like us, you know that there’s something truly magical about hitting the trails and immersing yourself in nature’s beauty. At Discovery West, we’re all about fostering that connection to the great outdoors—and to each other –so what better way to celebrate than by honoring National Trails Day on June 1st?

We believe that access to trails and parks isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to create a community where outdoor enthusiasts of all ages can thrive. With over miles of interconnected trails weaving throughout our neighborhood, and connecting to NorthWest Crossing and Shevlin Park, there’s no shortage of opportunities to explore, discover, and connect with nature.

Bend Park and Recreation District has been busy building new soft trails in and connecting to Discovery Park; one from Skyline Ranch Road connecting to the paved pathways within the park, and one from NW Crosby Drive (at the Strada lots), providing convenient access to nearby schools.

But our commitment to trail connectivity goes beyond just building pathways. It’s about creating spaces where residents can truly embrace an active, outdoor lifestyle. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker, a mountain biking enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys a leisurely stroll through the park, there’s something for everyone here at Discovery West.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or brand new to the neighborhood, we invite you to join us on June 1st as we honor the trails and parks that make Discovery West such a special place to call home.

So grab your hiking boots, scooter, bike or stroller, and get ready to discover a new trail at Discovery West or on one of the hundreds of trails nearby. We can’t wait to see you out and about on National Trails Day!
