Residents of Discovery West have an exciting new addition to enjoy—an interactive public art installation called the Discovery Park Labyrinth. Officially dedicated on April 2, 2025, this collaborative project between Discovery West and Bend Park & Recreation District beautifully combines art and nature to enhance our neighborhood’s trail system.
Designed by Leah Goode-Harris and Marilyn Larson of Creative Labyrinths, the labyrinth features a unique three-circuit pass-through design, with an optional fourth circuit for those seeking a longer walk. Its timeless stone design invites visitors to connect with nature, find moments of reflection, and celebrate creativity.
“The labyrinth underscores our dedication to preserving open space while enriching the quality of life for our community,” said Valerie Yost, Director of Marketing at Discovery West. Michelle Healy, Executive Director of Bend Park & Recreation District, added, “This space demonstrates the power of collaboration in creating accessible, meaningful recreation for all.”
This addition builds on the success of past neighborhood projects like the Annie Londonderry installation, offering yet another reason to pause and appreciate the unique blend of innovation, recreation, and community that defines our neighborhood.
