Found in the northern and southern skies, all of these constellations except Phoenix have ties to Greek mythology. Can you spot Lyra? Lyra is a small constellation depicting the lyre, a stringed instrument, of Orpheus, a famed musician in Greek mythology. Lyra contains one of the brightest summer stars, Vega. Vega, along with the brightest stars of Cygnus and Aquila make up the Summer Triangle, which was used in navigation before GPS. Lyra and Cygnus are most visible from Bend in the summer, while in the fall, catch a peek of Cepheus and Andromeda.
