Having the distinction of being the first to purchase a Strada custom homesite in Discovery West are new Bendites Dave Bickerton and Jo Thrussell. Hailing from England, this dynamic duo has lived in the States for the last 10 years. Most recently, Dave and Jo have been living in Montana where, along with their great friend and business partner, they’ve run Yellowstone Wildlife Guide Company in Yellowstone National Park.
The couple recently decided to make a change and have selected Bend, Oregon, as their next home (in part because it’s not quite as cold as Montana). While exploring Bend, the Bickerton-Thrussells found Discovery West and were drawn to its natural beauty and the access to nearby hiking and mountain biking trails in Shevlin Park and the Phil’s Trail area. And, they love being within walking distance of the creature comforts of the NorthWest Crossing community including dining, shops, and other conveniences.
Dave and Jo quickly connected with Discovery West Guild Builder Greg Welch and set out to design a custom home on one of the Strada custom homesites. They loved the larger footprint of the Strada homesites and chose the northernmost lot because of the more private nature nestled against the trees, the park, and just one neighbor next door. Together they designed a “modern craftsman” home that will take advantage of the mountain views and serene setting.
They just put in for their building permits with the city and can’t wait to start seeing their home come to life in Discovery West. Welcome Dave and Jo to the neighborhood!
